Requirements for QuickBooks Auto-Sync to Occur


  • Computer must be on
  • Sync Agent must be open and logged in
  • QuickBooks file can be open or closed, based on user’s preference setting in QuickBooks (same as when performing manual sync)
  • Computer can be asleep (monitor is off but can otherwise perform tasks)
  • Computer cannot be hibernating (computer maintains login state/memory but does not perform tasks)
  • If user’s QuickBooks file resides on a hosted environment – the user must keep their hosted environment session open while auto-sync is occurring. Any action that would close the Sync Agent will cancel auto-sync
